I joined family, friends and mourners at the funeral service of the late Mzee Thomas Mayavi in Shiru Ward, Tiriki East Sub County, to pay my final respects to a remarkable man whose wisdom and guidance touched many lives.

Mzee Mayavi, the father of former KUPPET Vihiga Branch Executive Secretary Fred Mayavi and Kenya Forest Research Institute Legal Officer Ms. Linet Mayavi, was not only a respected elder but also my mentor and advisor. His counsel, humility and commitment to the community left a lasting impact on my life and the lives of many others.

In my remarks, I mourned the late Mzee Mayavi and celebrated the values he stood for.
I also urged the management of Kaimosi Friends University to embrace meaningful engagement with local professionals and stakeholders whenever making major institutional decisions, such as relocating key schools from the main campus, so as to foster understanding, inclusivity, and harmony within the community.

The service was attended by former National Police Service Commission Chairman Johnstone Kavuludi, Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, Hamisi Member of Parliament Dr. Charles Gimose, among other leaders, as we stood together in solidarity with the bereaved family.

May the soul of Mzee Thomas Mayavi Rest in Eternal Peace and may God grant his family strength and comfort during this difficult time.

Apart for activism agendas such as human rights there is nothing he has articulated on roads, water, electricity, Education, corruption, housing, youth , employment, economic etc nothing on even basics to the people of Kenya 🇰🇪.

He is big in form but nothing in substance!.
