We’re proud to announce that His Majesty King Charles III will be our new Patron.
His Majesty succeeds Queen Elizabeth II and continues the tradition of patronage for the charity by the reigning monarch, which began when the RNLI was founded in 1824.
Today, we celebrate 200 years of saving lives at sea.
Thanks to our incredible volunteers, who give their time to save others, and the kindness of supporters like you, we can always answer the call for help.
We’d love to hear your stories and memories of the RNLI 👇

What a special moment to have Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II open @CowesRNLI Lifeboat Station in 2012.
It’s so amazing to see some of the history of the station.

Paged 1900 yesterday, small fishing boat with fuel problems, drifting close to shore. Found them in Osborne Bay put a crew member onboard and towed them to Shepards Marina.
Back on station at 2100 for a wash down and debrief by the Helm and Launch Authority!
In 1886, 27 lifeboat crew tragically lost their lives leaving behind 16 widows and 50 children. Inspired, a small team held the world's first known charity street collection #OTD 1891.
Ever since, we've been able to save lives #thanks to our amazing fundraisers and donors. 🧡
