Today I ‘roamed’ in the countryside. No need to trespass or moan about access. I walked along one of the 140,000 miles of public rights of way.
Right to Roam: pointless and bad for nature
Earthset.
The Artemis II crew captured this view of an Earthset on April 6, 2026, as they flew around the Moon. The image is reminiscent of the iconic Earthrise image taken by astronaut Bill Anders 58 years earlier as the Apollo 8 crew flew around the Moon.
Ready… set… Earth! 🌎
As Artemis II flew around the far side of the Moon, the crew captured a new view of home. These images show Earthset, when Earth dips below the lunar horizon. Parts of Australia & Oceania are visible, while the dark side of Earth is experiencing nighttime.
The launch of Artemis II is planned for 6.30pm tomorrow in Florida (11.30pm in UK), senior NASA test director Jeff Spaulding tells reporters.
It is 29 hours until the NASA rocket will take four astronauts on a historic 10-day test trip around the moon.
