@PeterBarbera@sacramentokid13@JoeConchaTV You get that the average network show draws a fraction of what it did even 10 years ago, right? If you’re not sports (which is DVR-proof), even networks kill for an audience of even half of what Colbert’s finale drew. Look at what NBC did to save Sunday nights. Catch up.
@PeterBarbera@sacramentokid13@JoeConchaTV Success on television in 2026 means more than what you do on the linear medium. See, there’s this little things called YouTube (you should look it up) TikTok, and a metric called digital impressions (look thst up, too) that all generate revenue — and I do work in THAT industry.
@CaptReynolds@RollingStone Completely unbiased politically? Tell me you never watched Johnny Carson without telling me you never watched Johnny Carson. His monologue led with politics EVERY NIGHT FOR 30 YEARS.
@LlloydBrawn@JoeConchaTV CBS and Paramount needed Trump administration approval to merge with Skydance, a movie studio. Trump didn’t like Colbert’s jokes (one in particular about Paramount settling a Trump lawsuit), and Voila!
Nice job staying on topic, too.
@mongoosetoyour1@JoeConchaTV Right, but there’s also perceived value, to say nothing of actual dollars generated by social media traffic and engagement.
@TheMagaHulk Actually Teter, if that is your real name, throughout history, the best heels are guys the average fan believes they can beat up. Look no further than the original Four Horsemen (or Logan Paul if you’re a newb) for proof. The whole idea is that they have to cheat to win.
@crissy_froyd Speaking as someone who spent more than 25 years working in sports journalism, this whole thing makes me sad. I had the great pleasure of working with so many talented and professional women who I continue to admire to this day. We're better than this.
This has been shared before but really who can get enough of this
Mean Gene presses Don Muraco on his workout routine and he breaks out a box of donuts which he starts eating in numbers then Ken Patera shows up kissing his bicep which totally breaks Gene
@DetroitBrewCrew@AndrewMarchand He's also a tremendous broadcaster, as evidenced by the fact that he calls games for just about everyone. Way to tell me who you are - and that isn't a compliment.
