Oswald Mosley tried to hold a fascist rally in Southampton in 1937. It was unsuccessful. There were scuffles between locals and his bodyguards. Mosley was hit by a stone; he had to escape by being bundled into a barricaded tram by the police.
“We don’t want Mosley!” was the cry.
