@LivingGodsTruth So Christians should never buy gifts for anyone for any occasion? Birthdays? Anniversaries? Nothing? Because if gift giving is always motivated by selfish pleasure, it should never be done, not just at Christmas.
@Seedsoilsunrain@eXnihilO_@Phil_Johnson_ Self-proclaimed? And what makes sense? I thought I was just engaging you on your thinking about how a lustful thought by a pastor (or any believer) should carry the same weight as an adulterous affair.
@Seedsoilsunrain@eXnihilO_@Phil_Johnson_ Interesting. Obviously there are different kinds of lust. Only God knows but is he in disobedience if he doesn’t step down? What if he ever loses his temper? Has a selfish inclination? Seems like you’re expecting perfection in thought.
@Seedsoilsunrain@eXnihilO_@Phil_Johnson_ I’m curious. Do you believe that a pastor should be removed from ministry if he has lusted from his heart but not actually acted on it?
@RELEVANT I love the ordinariness of Christmas. But the ordinary can very much be holy. God came to earth that night. That makes that night “set apart” by your own definition of holy.
@RandalRauser@Ayaan I think there will always be issues when we determine true Christianity based on intellectual arguments alone. There is also an experiential side. I believe you can intellectually agree with creedal Christianity and still not be converted.
@rockreborn22@DrMichaelLBrown Fair enough. But saying you have read articles and now have nothing else to learn seems a little closed minded. It’s like me saying, “I have studied Romans extensively so I no longer have to listen to anyone preach on it.”
@rockreborn22@DrMichaelLBrown So you can post a link to an article for others to understand your point but Dr. Brown is somehow defeated if he posts a video? You don’t have to agree with him but the man does deserve respect.
@BrynnPark What biologically or morally happens during the second trimester that didn’t apply to the first? Is the dividing line that sure? And there is scientific and Scriptural evidence that life begins at conception. Should we not err on the side of caution when it comes to human life?
@BrynnPark I didn’t say it was say it was simple either. But sex within the commitment of marriage lessens the number of abortions. Thats just a fact. It also lessens the number of STIs, teen pregnancies, need for foster care, etc.
