As the by-elections approach, this is the right moment to deeply reflect on the message in this speech. There is a clear distinction between saying ‘I don’t think there'll be rigging’ and declaring ‘There'll be no rigging at all.Let us therefore treat this by-elections as a test of the waters as we prepare for 2027.
And to @edwinsifuna :
Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.
History often reserves greater platforms for those whose voices cannot be silenced.
It is, in my view, a serious miscalculation to remove Edwin Sifuna as the Secretary General of ODM at such a politically sensitive and heated moment in the country. At a time when strong, visible leadership is essential, such a move raises more questions than answers.
Nonetheless, we shall wait and see how the Acting and incoming Secretary Generals will take up the mantle & whether they will command rallies, energize supporters, and effectively position ODM ahead of 2027.
Otherwise the decision made today, it's crystal clear and obvious that the NEC of ODM are just but a rafter of Turkeys following their imprudent short-sighted behaviours which will lead them and the ODM into a ditch and sooner or later to the slaughter house.
Leadership decisions at such moments require foresight, unity, and strategic clarity. Abrupt changes risk creating internal uncertainty and weakening the party’s momentum. ODM must be cautious not to undermine its own strength through short-sighted decisions.
Catherine Omanyo, who has stepped in as Acting SG. This transition, though constitutional in structure, appears abrupt and poorly timed considering the political climate and the road to the 2027 General Elections.
In fact, many Kenyans can hardly name the Secretary Generals of other major political parties. That alone speaks to Sifuna’s prominence and effectiveness in the role. It is therefore surprising that only now many are coming to learn about the Deputy Secretary General,
His communication prowess and ability to command public attention have kept ODM vibrant in national discourse.
One must ask: which other party Secretary General currently commands the same national recognition, presence, and influence?
Baba has undeniably been the ideological engine and historic pillar of ODM. However, in recent times, Sifuna has been the vocal engine of the party — articulate, visible, and fearless in defending the party’s positions.
If this crackdown on outspoken ODM Senators is truly about fighting corruption, then it must apply equally to all involved. If Governors bribed members of the Senate CPAC, they should face impeachment under Article 181 for gross misconduct.
accountable through removal. So when we hear repeated claims about “bribe-seeking cartels” without decisive, balanced action, it raises a serious question. Is this a genuine anti-corruption drive, or selective enforcement targeting those who refuse to toe the Kenya Kwanza line?
If Senators received the money, they should be investigated and flagged by the EACC. But here lies the legal gap: while Governors can be impeached, Parliament has failed to operationalize Article 104 on recall, making it practically impossible to hold Senators directly....

I wish to extend my heartfelt commendation to Waziri Osman Korar for his unwavering commitment to empowering the youth both in sports and in the broader creative space. Championing talent in all its diversity is never an easy task, yet you have consistently shown dedication, passion, and genuine belief in our young people.
Your efforts, backed by the support of H.E. the Governor, continue to open doors and inspire an entire generation. Kudos, brother, for the remarkable work you are doing.
Today, as you joined the Governor in flagging off the KICOSCA team heading to Siaya for the Inter-County competitions, your presence once again affirmed your support for youth excellence.
I wish all our county participants the very best go shine, represent us proudly, and bring back victory!
Laws exist to shield us from injustice, yet many stay silent when the injustice is not their own. We wait for activists to speak, forgetting that ignored injustice always circles back. A nation stands only when its people stand for one another and honor the constitution. Protect others today, so that justice protects you tomorrow.
