I think you could argue that for 4 or 5 months last year, no one had it better than Pacers fans. And I think you could also argue that for the last year, no one has had it worse.
To go from maybe the most improbable playoff run in NBA history to your star tearing their achilles at the climax of that run, to being forced to tank due to injuries, to losing your draft pick from said tanking and now your rival stealing any shine you had left. Cold world.
One of the most embarrassing things in recent memory was when everyone was complaining about the lack of Larry O'Brien decal on the floor for the Finals so ESPN (clearly at the behest of the incurably online commish) hastily added this bullshit for a few minutes
All of this to say - the Pacers have been around more than any team in recent NBA history outside of the Spurs, Lakers, Heat and Celtics - all without a single All-NBA 1st Team player. This is one of the best run organizations in sports.
In the 10 years since 1994 where the Pacers have made the Conference Finals, FIVE of their losses have come in 7 games. (94, 95, 98, 2013, 2025). FOUR have come in 6 games (99, 2000, 2003, 2014).
