Life costs more if you have #SightLoss.
Today, we join more than 80 charities to call on Chancellor @Jeremy_Hunt to take urgent action in his Autumn Statement to support disabled people with sight loss through the ongoing cost of living crisis.
#SupportCantWait
Nicky Shaw, Blind Veterans UK Director of Operations, said: “The #blind community, including #veterans we support, need action with the #CostOfLiving crisis. They require deliberate intervention to avoid unfair hardship as a result of living with sight loss.”

The Chancellor also announced that there will be new #CostOfLiving payments next year. For those on disability benefits, but not on means-tested benefits, the £150 payment announced will amount to just £2.88 extra per week. This simply will not go far enough
We are pleased to hear the Chancellor @Jeremy_Hunt has recommitted to raising benefits by 10.1% in line with inflation, following sustained pressure from campaigners and MPs. This news will bring relief to blind and partially sighted people across the UK: https://t.co/F0ftGnB86Z
Do you know one of 1000s veterans, struggling with sight loss? We could help them today. If you, or someone you know, served in the Armed Forces, including National Service, then get in touch or help us reach more veterans by sharing this post.
