While our SAI model could not account for the inclusion of small businesses and family farms, we provide scenarios at different levels of net worth. For context, the average net worth of family farms in Iowa is $1.9 million.

The new needs analysis formula treats small businesses and family farms as assets and does not consider the number of family members in college. Both changes will affect students’ financial aid eligibility.
