@itsjwills I feel the same way about you, Justin. You literally think we have assets to build a championship team around Giannis. This is the only reason you want to draft a "win now" "ready now" type player.
There are 14 all-stars in the last 10 seasons on my list... (1.4 all-stars per year, all drafted from 8th to around 18th). We have pick 10, not pick 18, so we have one of the first shots at it. At worst, if we take a stab in the dark, we have a 14% chance at landing that all-star. But you want a 24-year-old Cam Johnson instead (12.2ppg).
@itsjwills Josh Giddey... (4-year vet) could take a year off to play in Europe... come back to the NBA a year from now and would be the same age as Yaxel. Be serious, man.
@itsjwills He also doesn't fit the timeline. This makes sense 3 seasons ago when Middleton, Brook and Jrue were all aging starters... however, post a Giannis trade, this is definitely NOT the move.
@jdheimsch@nathanmarzion@Xenceee Losing in the first round is success.. ok (mind you, at no point did we actually have a chance in any of those first-round series).
I am asking because there is a point to where success matters. For instance, if someone told me in the next 7yrs, bucks will not win a championship, but will have 6 50 win seasons, you will go to the finals twice, but lose. I would be okay with that, I like that timeline better than rebuilding.
Hey Nathan.. question, if someone from the future said… Giannis will stay and spend the next 7yrs with the bucks.. but will not make it past the 1st round in any of those years and never win more than 50 games. Would you choose to continue this timeline or would you rather rebuild?
