With MAYHEM, Lady Gaga reminded the world what a fully committed era actually looks like. She was everywhere: hosting SNL, delivering a career-defining Coachella headlining set, staging an historic concert at Copacabana that broke the world record for most attendees for a female performer, sitting down for interviews, touring the world on one of the biggest and most in-demand treks in recent memory, releasing smash singles, and weaving herself into film and television both as a performer and a writer. The album itself debuted at #1 across multiple markets, while singles like “Disease,” “Abracadabra,” and “Die With A Smile” dominated airplay charts and playlists globally, with the latter two already cementing themselves as iconic entries in her catalog.
The era also brought home Grammy wins, further solidifying MAYHEM as one of the defining albums of her career. But beyond the spectacle, this era gave us something more meaningful: Gaga visibly happier and healthier than she’s been in well over a decade.
And then came MAYHEM Requiem. Intimate, cinematic, and completely unapologetic, it was the perfect final chapter to one of the most ambitious artistic cycles in recent pop history. A farewell worthy of everything that came before it.
It was a reminder that the artist her fans and the general public fell in love with never went anywhere. She’s simply ever-evolving, growing stronger with every new chapter she steps into.
Thank you for this wonderful era, @ladygaga. This journey was something else. Until next time. 🤍
yearn for her to learn into these hard electronic impulses she clearly has so much affection for but is scared to fully pursue post-ARTPOP trauma. “Judas (Goldfrapp Remix)” and all of the Born This Way: The Remix, Dawn of Chromatica, her tour interludes.
MAYHEM like you’ve never seen before.
Experience the premiere of @ladygaga’s MAYHEM Requiem, only on Apple Music May 14th at 8PM PT. https://t.co/DDxDQhwy1z #AppleMusicLive
🚨 Zara Larsson has just released the first snippet of the remix of ‘Midnight Sun’ with PinkPantheress, which will be available on ‘Midnight Sun: Girls Trip’ on May 1st.
