6. Sticking with your strategy

From here, it’s all about sticking with your strategy

No matter if you’re winning or if you’re in drawdown, if your strategy has an edge (which you would’ve found out in the data-collection phase) then it will come good eventually

Look at this equity curve simulator for example

It is a strategy with 2.5R system and a 45% win-rate

This is obviously a very profitable system and would average you 66% return in a year (which is really good)

But by variance, sometimes I can end up as:

•Being break-even after 80 trades
•Being down 5% after 50 trades
•-14% max drawdown

This shows that even profitable systems go through tough times, sometimes by genuine randomness

All traders go through drawdown

You get through these drawdowns periods by sticking with your strategy and letting your edge play out
