It’s crazy to look back and realize:

1. Trump was banned from Twitter for two years.

2. Trump was banned from YouTube for two years.

3. Trump was banned from Instagram and Facebook for two years.

4. The government pressured Facebook to censor dissenting voices as “misinformation”.

5. The government pressured Twitter to shadowban conservative accounts.

6. The government pressured Twitter to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story.

7. Trump has been hit with hundreds of lawsuits incurring $100-200 million in expenses over the last 8 years

8. Legacy media near-uniformly posted negative headlines about Trump

9. Google search results reflected and may have even amplified media bias

The fact that he was able to win again despite all of this is a stunning triumph of the human spirit.

Blood on the right ear is important in the Bible.

In the Old Testament, Moses was given instructions by God to anoint Aaron and his sons for service in this way.

It was marking them as dedicated to listening to and carrying out God's will. It was a purifcation process -- that after this point, they will not carry the baggage of the last season into the next. It's not just about hearing God's commands but also about a deep commitment to the calling and responsibility given.

Now, as Trump recovers from this atrocity, the symbolism can't be overlooked. It's as though he is being marked, not just as a leader but as a knowing servant of a holy agenda. This moment might represent a pivot in Trump's journey, from being a passive vessel to an active, willing participant who fully understands and embraces his role.

This practice is detailed in Exodus 29:20 and Leviticus 8:23-24.

Is there anything better than a local bookstore?

I dig shopping online and am incredibly grateful that Amazon has made it so easy for people to find my books.

At the same time, there’s something magical about a curated collection of books inside a real store. There aren’t 10 million options, just a few hundred hand picked titles that often reflect the area, the staff and the owner’s love of reading.

One of my goals is to support local bookstores when I’m on trips.

This weekend, that went shopping at Laguna Beach Books.

I bought a copy of “1,000 Words” by @jamiattenberg . It’s a writer’s guide to staying focused. (I could use just a little more of all of those words in my life.)

I do 50-60 trips a year including business and vacation.
