This inexpensive, orally available enzyme holds immense promise for cardiovascular risk reduction in the post-COVID era.

It now deserves large-scale clinical testing for cardiovascular risk reduction and other post-vaccination injury applications.

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Rob Sand walked into the most liberal room in the state of Iowa, and still could not give the activists what they wanted. 

At his Iowa City rally on Monday, a citizen demanded he walk back his view that men do not belong in women’s sports. Sand would not. He said he tends to agree with the 2022 law that keeps biological males off girls’ and women’s teams, then tried to change the subject to water quality, cancer rates, and gas prices. This is when someone in the back yelled “Coward!” 

That reaction tells you everything you need to know. Sand has said the same thing for months, in that biological boys should not compete against girls, which is a view many believe he conveniently changed before running for governor. The U.S. Supreme Court has now upheld those state laws. 

Male bodies have average advantages in strength, speed, and endurance, no matter what pronouns someone uses. Iowa already banned the practice four years ago. Pretending otherwise would be denying reality. It is asking teenage girls to give up roster spots, records, and scholarships so a political group can feel validated.

Sand’s stance here is the usual Democratic virtue signal. He calls the 2025 repeal of “gender identity” from the Iowa Civil Rights Act a civil-rights rollback that lets people get fired or evicted “for who they are.” That law simply restored the ordinary meaning of sex, with either male or female as observed at birth, and stopped treating a meaningless psychological identity as a protected class that can override women’s sports, locker rooms, and single-sex spaces. 

Sand promises to veto future “culture war” bills and make everyone feel welcome, which in practice means he will not fight the demand from the same crowd that just called him a coward. 

Every Iowan knows that Iowa City is a lone outlier. Most of the state has already decided that girls’ sports and basic sex-based rules are not optional.

A candidate who treats biological reality as a disappointing compromise is not what a leader is supposed to do. He is literally just hoping the issue goes away before November.
