They appointed Carrick because they didn’t want to spend on an elite manager.

The fans and the club are being let down because they are running the club on a shoestring.

When we said that Carrick’s “success” was built on Amorim’s fundamentals, people assumed you were just being negative and taking credit away from Carrick.

But the truth is, Amorim left very good fundamentals and culture, and Carrick came in and optimized for short-term results ON TOP of that foundation.

Starting the season and imposing your own football will always be harder. Up to Carrick now to prove he won’t mess up the laid foundations and progress.

Bringing back Rashford to me was a big sign that all of Amorim’s work will be for nothing.

Why would he feel let down? They won’t have promised him anything, they didn’t have to. He would have taken the job anyway.

Conceding goals has been a problem under Ten Hag, Amorim and now Carrick.

This is why United fans need to stop targeting managers whenever results go south and KEEP TALKING ABOUT THE OWNERS.

United’s problem is NOT systems or formations. I’ve been saying this since last season and got called an Amorimsexual for it.

Back four or back five, it doesn’t matter when the players are bang average. You literally have Shaw, Maguire and Dalot starting games in 2026.

You need to sign QUALITY players to make any system work. It’s honestly SHOCKING how poor INEOS have been at squad building.
