Después de un proceso de consenso global sin precedentes, que incluyó encuestas en cinco idiomas, talleres internacionales y la participación activa de pacientes en cada etapa, el nuevo nombre oficial es SOMP: síndrome ovárico metabólico poliendocrino.

El cambio significa mejores diagnósticos, más investigación, y menos personas sintiéndose incomprendidas por el sistema de salud.
