Nearly 10,000 Palestinian detainees are held in Israeli prisons—most without trial—including hundreds of children, doctors, and academics. They are subjected to the most brutal forms of torture, and no one in the world speaks about them.
Be their voice.
We've been quiet recently because Mark Goodwin and I have been working to write the most comprehensive investigation into Polymarket's origins and ambitions to date.
We found that Polymarket's "official" origin story, that Shayne Coplan founded the company alone in 2020 and then built "the company in his bathroom", is a lie. Polymarket really started years earlier as another company called TokenBnk that was deeply tied to Israeli interests, specifically a crypto company founded by Benjamin Netanyahu's niece and nephew. Coplan has actively tried to obfuscate this company from his story and it's not the only thing either.
In Part 1 of this two-part series, we unravel the real history of Polymarket, directly connecting the company to Peter Thiel's efforts to resurrect controversial DARPA programs from its now defunct Information Awareness Office. Polymarket appears to have been chosen by Thiel and his associates to succeed in resurrecting DARPA's Policy Analysis Market where another Thiel-linked company, Augur, had previously failed.
Stay tuned for Part 2, where we explore the current influence of prediction markets and Polymarket, including how an insidious effort to have prediction markets replace representative democracy as a governance model is already being slowly implemented by the White House.

"I just want my son back!" Palestinian journalist Ahmed al-Bursh was told his missing son had been found. His young son has been missing for more than forty days, and overnight several parties called to say the Israeli occupation army had handed over a body matching the boy's description. Al-Bursh rushed to al-Shifa Hospital at three in the morning with his wife and children, told it was him, only to look and find it was not his son.
He spent almost the whole night there among the dead. Steadying himself, he makes a single appeal to the international institutions and to anyone with any information: he just wants his son back. His ordeal is one of thousands. Palestinian bodies handed over by the occupation arrive stripped of names, many bound, mutilated or crushed, with only a fraction ever identified, while Gaza's Health Ministry has received reports of some 3,600 missing whose fate is unknown, and rights groups estimate between 7,000 and 8,000 Palestinians missing in all, among them thousands of children buried under rubble, lost at aid points near occupation lines, or disappeared into Israeli detention.

Could you please explain this @LloydsBank. It raises questions of whether anyone should bank with you &/or whether you should be boycotted for an assault on freedom of speech & expression

Yousef was his mother's whole life, her everything. Huda Fatima speaks of her eldest son, killed by the Israeli occupation at the age of 30, just days after his birthday, as the young man who was her reason for everything. He sold fruit and worked until midnight to provide for her, telling her she mattered more to him than his own self, longing to marry but always putting himself last. On the morning he was killed by the Israeli occupation, she begged him to stay and eat breakfast. He left at six. By seven he had been killed and carried back to her.
Huda is herself a displaced woman living with diabetes who, left with no other option, was forced to use expired insulin, a choice that worsened her condition so badly that part of her foot had to be amputated. Now she stands alone, with no one to support her, facing an impossible choice, one of countless Palestinians whose grief and sickness are compounded by an occupation that takes their children and then denies them even the medicine to survive.

Heated debates erupted in the Israeli Knesset today over an Israeli Supreme Court decision allowing the Red Cross to visit Palestinian prisoners and hostages in Israeli prisons after nearly two and a half years of denial.
The main objection? That Red Cross visits would expose what is happening inside the prisons and become a public relations disaster for Israel.
🚨 BREAKING: Israel has killed 8 year old Palestinian child Malek Wael Abu Shawish in Gaza.
He is the second Palestinian child reported killed since this morning.
🚨HORRIBLE: 54 Palestinian children killed in the West Bank in just six months.
According to B’Tselem, Israel killed 54 Palestinian children and youth in the occupied West Bank during the first half of 2025.
Since October 2023, 241 Palestinian children and youth have been killed there, while delays in medical care, obstruction of ambulances, and the withholding of children’s bodies have compounded families’ suffering.
It took me a couple of days to read the latest @UN Commission of Inquiry's report on how Israel is deliberately targeting Palestinian children. I had to stop, again and again, just to breathe. The level of devastation, the detail, the evidence, it is overwhelming.
The findings are devastating and unequivocal: Israeli authorities and security forces have deliberately targeted Palestinian children, resulting in genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in #Gaza, and war crimes in the occupied West Bank.
At @Amnesty, we documented the genocide in Gaza in our report published in December 2024, and more recently detailed evidence of ethnic cleansing in the West Bank. We know the patterns. We have exposed the atrocities. Yet reading this report still shakes you to the core. It goes deeper into the intent, into the systematic nature of the violence, into the unbearable reality that children themselves are being targeted.
This is not collateral damage. This is not incidental. This is deliberate. Children, killed, maimed, traumatized, deprived not only of safety, but of any possibility of a future. Entire generations being erased in plain sight.
How much more evidence does the world need? How many more reports must confirm what is already undeniable?
Governments cannot continue to look away. Silence and inaction, in this moment, are complicity.
This must end. Israel must be held fully accountable.

A heartbreaking and painful scene: The child asks the paramedic, "What are you saying? Is he really dead?" He is shocked by the martyrdom of his younger brother, who was killed while playing at the tent door.
