Kirk Herbstreit lambasted Alabama for being "embarrassing" in their 38-3 loss to Indiana. If he's looking for someone to blame for why the three-loss Tide were there to begin with, he should start with... Kirk Herbstreit. https://t.co/WDfv4okkge
@awfulannouncing Where was this commentary during the SEC championship when the same thing was happening? Company men didn’t want to share a narrative that Bama didn’t belong.
@PeteSampson_@ThomasGalvin Within the NCAA rules. Week 0 has to get a waiver. USC made an offer that they knew wouldn’t work. Most 2026 schedules are 90% complete at this point, and they knew it. We know what this really is Pete. Just look at 2024 B10 media days. ND beat has been terrible this postseason.
@mikegolicjr@DanWolken Media members had an influence on the CFP committee (espn, wolken, etc…) and media with ND ties have been far too passive and objective in the aftermath, at a critical point in program history. Where’s the Hunter Yurachek interview Mike? This is when the torch needs carried most
@DanWolken Dan your hatred for ND is so strong that it’s compromising your journalistic integrity, which at this point seems non existent when it comes to ND. You ran a story about teams not wanting to schedule ND and now you are clinging to anything, true or not to support that narrative.
@LetCounty@WhyMultifamily Like Mike Riley? Where did he attend college? Didn’t hear about that recusal. Educate yourself on things like that. The committee concept is absurd.
@LetCounty@WhyMultifamily That’s wild. An SEC AD in the room stands to profit off of one of that conference’s teams getting in. Do they recluse themselves in this cases? Polls and computers at least mitigate a vested interest.
@LetCounty@WhyMultifamily The point is it’s averaged with the BCS system. Yes coaches and writers have biases. But 12 people vs. a balanced system is much different. Which system is more efficient/fair?
@WhyMultifamily@LetCounty Has anyone given a good reason to combat this? The bcs ranking system isn’t flawless by any means, but is more of an average of a ton of polls and data (many included in the graphic). A committee of 12 with skin in the game is absurd.
@ByPatForde@Ivan_Maisel Embarrassing interview with Maisel. I guess journalist don’t ask their buddies tough questions at all. Maybe a good question would’ve been was anybody else recluse from discussion based on their status as an athletic Director? SEC affiliates exempt from discussions of SEC teams?
@ByPatForde@Ivan_Maisel Why was the BCS ranking system a disaster when it mitigates personal bias? Versus a committee of 12 people that at least some of which have a stake in the game?
@timomalleyND What is the possible downfall of the old BCS ranking system being applied to the CFP? A committee of human beings full of biases is bound to be very flawed. While the AP and coaches poles have biases, there are other metrics in the BCS system that mitigate those.
