Some years ago I was on the BBC2 lunchtime political tv show with Jess Phillips.
During the show she was asked how she had proceeded to take up the issue we were discussing with the government. She replied that she had written to PM Theresa May asking for a meeting, but she claimed she was ignored by the PM. How cruel!
I saw TM a few hours later and told her about this. A few days later, TM told me that they had conducted an investigation and neither No10 nor her private office had received anything from Jess P.
Nevertheless, TM said she had now written to Jess on No10 paper inviting her to a one to one meeting to discuss her concerns.
Several weeks later, TM told me that she had received no response from Jess.
Since then, I treat anything Jess P says with caution.
