Kind of strange but I love listening to movie soundtracks for while focus work.
They tend to be dramatic, chill, inspiring vibe. Lack of words is a must otherwise they distract me. Try: Interstellar, Lord of the Rings, Braveheart or Inception. They’re on Spotify or YouTube.
@AgorithmAg Yeah I guess you can’t access Standard Voice now? I would be happy to use that. I was a big fan of Advanced Voice initially but I’ve grown to be very skeptical of using it for anything I was good, thoughtful answers on. I suspect Standard Voice mode is better
ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode is kind of a bullshitter. It doesn’t seem to do real work (tools, searches, docs) but won’t tell you that. It’s just BS’s its way through. It works WAY better if I dictate text into it and then have responses read aloud - a poor man’s voice mode.
This new ChatGPT realtime voice chat upgrade that I noticed yesterday is really really impressive. It sounds SO natural. I thought it sounded great before but my expectations have been surpassed. It feels so much more like talking to a real person.
@Atinux@nuxt_hub I am keening awaiting durable object deployment. I have built a speech transcription Nuxt app that needs a persistent outgoing websocket connection to Deepgram which means I need a long-lived WebSocketHandler. Is there any "manual" way to get this deployed in the meantime?
Everybody is trying to get AI to build apps for them. I’m sure we’ll get there at some point but that point is not now.
It is however, very useful today for a developer as a development implementation assistant. I think that’s how we should be thinking about it.
I feel like the limiting factor now isn’t so much the model’s abilities but the developer’s sense of how and how to engage it.
Great video: “The Unreasonable Effectiveness of Linux Workstations”
The message is: Laptops have taken over, but you should stop using poor performing and expensive laptops all day at home, just because you sometimes want to work from your couch or a coffee shop. The Linux part is a secondary argument (though I’m a fan for development).
What are you all using and why?

@johnrush I agree with you on B2C if the goal is create “the next big thing” in the consumer space. But if you’re trying to indie hack something that can contribute to earning a personal income, I think it can work. I’m starting with a B2C one with that expectation.
I've found @kouroshdini's "Anchor Technique" even more valuable as a solopreneur than when I was in the corporate world. I have a lot more flexibility & breadth of things I should/could do. Discipline is important, otherwise I'd be all over the place. https://t.co/hyCXeH6x88
Transitioning from product mgmt and engineering leadership in the corporate world to solopreneur has been really refreshing. I don't miss the powerpoints, meetings, budgets. But I do miss talking 1:1 with people more. It's tricky to figure it all out in your head.
