After three years in CoMo, #Mizzou standout Trent Pierce has officially been named a team captain, something HC Dennis Gates knew was going to happen this season, regardless. However, earlier in the season, they wanted to give him time focus on recovery from his injury.

Despite that time injured: "He naturally still led, even without the title. I didn't have to say 'you're captain' for him to initiate team-building opportunities..."
