Let’s talk a moment about Trump being a lifetime democrat until just before he decided to run for president.

He had the Clintons at his kids weddings.

He had Obama at his dinners.

What does that tell you?

It suggests that the democrats are the elite folks that run the country or at the least buying your way into power is possible as a democrat due to their organizational and cultural structure.
Republicans might be more closed to outsiders.

That’s why Trump and most wealthy magnates will align themselves as democrats. At least while they are climbing the political ladder.
