Hearts fan usually posting jaded, cynical tweets about the state of Scottish football. Will occasionally tweet about other things, often gaming related.
As one of the most level headed Hearts fans I know, Martin makes reasonable points and then appeals for objectivity.
So Celtic fans, what do you do? Pile on. Incapable of any kind of reasonable conversation, just have to attack and rub it in.
This place is a cesspit
Trying to keep focusing on positive. But this still hurts.
I absolutely accept that Hearts away form could have been better and that we had other opportunities to win the league regardless.
But these two penalty decisions, undeniably had a fundamental impact on the outcome.
Now Gordon, I can see why fans are upset here there’s a plane sticking out the building, massive flames, black smoke pouring everywhere and the tower’s literally collapsing… but can you categorically say from these angles there’s actual contact? For me, you cannot.
Motherwell/Hearts…
VAR to ref - “That’s a penalty”
Ref to VAR - “No, it’s not”
Motherwell/Celtic
VAR to ref - “That’s a penalty”
Ref to VAR - “Is it? Aye, okay then”
Frightening.
"we don't have VAR lite here"
Yet Beaton has one angle to look from the same ground and could be certain.
Scottish clubs, please unite and demand better. These clowns are not fit for purpose
▶️ Here's what happened when VAR checked if Hearts should have been awarded a penalty against Motherwell.
At 6pm on @SkyFootball watch Scottish Football VAR Review to hear what the SFA's head of refereeing Willie Collum made of it 📺

@TartanArmyGroup Thanks for posting this. Been keeping an eye on that website for a couple of weeks now with absolutely no change. Will look at it tonight at 7 to try for tickets to watch the Haiti game there
@sean_r1tch1e@anthonyabrown I can't complain about the year Hearts got out of him and we'd never have had the season we just had without his contribution.
But as a club, we've just lost our captain who was supposedly signed for another two years. For nothing. It leaves a very bad taste
@sean_r1tch1e@anthonyabrown If it was presented as that, then yes.
However, we were led to believe we'd resigned him for three years. Then kept him as club captain.
I just don't think Hearts or Shankland come out of it looking good. Just Rangers, who have got the best striker in the league for free.
@anthonyabrown No one will have the answer to that. JTA would have had to find someone.
But, expectations from last season were low enough to take that hit - this season wasn't expected by anyone anyway. We'd have taken 3rd/4th given how poor we were the previous season. Shankland included
The manner we lost the title was our own Montreal Screwjob therefore Shankland moving to Rangers is now our Bret Hart moving to WCW. He will be a big draw and the money will be better but ultimately Rangers won’t know how to utilise him.
@MazK1983@mikewizz1960@TheQuietKid18 Everyone uses there arms for leverage when jumping for a header though. That's natural. His arm end where it does because Trusty has forced it up to where it was.
It's obviously something that we'll never agree upon
@MazK1983@mikewizz1960@TheQuietKid18 His arm is there because Trusty jumped underneath him and forced his arm up? He hasn't jumped with his hand in front of his head. The only people saying it's a pen are Celtic and Hibs fans.
The wider UK football press picked it up for how bad a decision it was.
@MazK1983@mikewizz1960@TheQuietKid18 And that's before any of the others:
Scales at Tynecastle, penalty to Hearts. Potential for a 3-2 win. One point less to Celtic. Two more to Hearts.
Red card for the tackle on Just at Parkhead. A lot harder to get that injury time winner with ten men on the park
@MazK1983@mikewizz1960@TheQuietKid18 Probably not, agreed. But poor decisions are poor decisions.
I can concede we got away with Shankland and St Mirren's third. So there are three points gained via bad decisions for us.
Can you admit that Motherwell and Killie are 4 points gained by you through poor decisions?
@fergustp@TheQuietKid18 We WERE good enough, that's what hurts. If the ref even gave one of those decisions in games 36 or 37 correctly then we're champions.
That's why there is uproar about it, it's why folk with no skin in the game commented on it after Fir Park
