the biggest disconnect between me and everyone mad at me today seems to be that idgaf that langdon committed a crime. just like I don’t care that dana punched someone. and I don’t care that mckay had an ankle monitor. and I don’t care that abbot forged papers. who cares acab
Patrick Ball talks about Santos and Langdon’s similarities in new interview with Isa Briones and Glamour Magazine:
“I think these two are twin flames, and they have a lot in common. Both Langdon and Santos are people who, when the game is on the line, they want the last shot. She loves the hustle and she's very front-footed, and she's she's a go-getter, and she's not afraid. I think that those are qualities that you have to have in this line of work. And I think she comes in with an unapologetic, take no prisoners attitude. And I think that is not at all dissimilar to the way Langdon came in the door. I think in a different world, they would be really great friends.”
GODDD my favorite part about these two is how punitive and personal it is. like the first thing she points out is how she's mad he got embraced back with open arms, meanwhile she percieves herself as a pariah, so he must submit to a humilliation ritual to atone TO HER. THE PITT!!
Patrick Ball on what it was like watching people have such strong negative reactions towards Santos’ character in ‘The Pitt’ Season 1:
“But it was really interesting going through the process of seeing certain parts of the fandom from Jump Street being like, ‘Santos is on a witch hunt. She's got a bad attitude and she just hates Langdon for whatever reason. My prince can do no wrong.’ And then realizing, ‘Oh, wait, she was right. Why didn't I believe her?’
Also, rewinding and thinking ‘Okay, what did we like about Dr. Langdon at the beginning of season one? He was sassy and he talked shit. And why did we not like Santos at the beginning of season one? Because she's sassy and talked shit.’ Watching those parallels come along, and watching the discourse online unfold around that was really satisfying as a storyteller.”
Well... Isa Briones about the whole thing with Langdon and Santos to Glamour:
“So when Langdon finally corners her in a hospital hallway, Briones says everyone felt the pressure to “land that plane” for fans of the series, who've become largely divided into two factions: Team Santos and Team Langdon. “People really fight over this, and maybe the whole point is that there is no right answer,” Briones says. “This is not a show to watch if you're going to be black and white about it. That's not why this show is made.”
Buffy is currently 1 for 8 with spin-offs being picked up and that’s really sad 😭
