I can't believe I've submitted my final ever uni assignment! Now it's time to start the next chapter and I can honestly say I'm so excited and ready to begin this journey!

@JUST This lesson initiated several follow up lessons on sustainability. For example one lesson was a project where Ss created a poster on the negative effects rubbish is having, specifically in the Blue Mountains, & possible solutions to fix this :) The kids absolutely loved it!
Ss were able to explore the playground & bush to find natural objects that could be categorised by colour :) Some found blue rocks while others found red feathers! This was a great activity to also teach about sustainability, as a lot of rubbish/plastic was discovered #acuedu_p
Loved being back casual teaching this week! Yesterday I was with Year 6 learning about Cartesian planes, so we played a game of Battleships afterwards to apply their knowledge, they loved it! #acuedu_p
It was definitely a Friday funday today! The kids got to paint & decorate masks! Although this was super fun, it was really hard to say goodbye to my lovely class of crying and upset children :( I was so lucky to experience such an amazing prac with an amazing class!

I attended a teacher wellbeing course where the amazing presenter provided an abundance of tools to help teachers deal with tough days!
Fun fact-T are asked on average 1500 questions daily which can cause cognitive fatigue! Hence why by Friday we can feel so drained

This week's highlight- the kids got to experience a birds, bugs and bush incursion! They loved finding bugs, making birds nests and exploring the beautiful bush in the school! #acuedu_p
I really love this idea! It's a great way to assess the student's knowledge and understanding! I'm always on the hunt for different strategies so thank you :) #acuedu_p
Today I asked my students to write what they thought each fraction was and put it on top of that circle. Not only did it allow students to see what everyone wrote, it also showed me which students knew about equivalent fractions! #acuedu_p
Today's highlight - seeing a student have that lightbulb moment after trying and trying to differentiate the content to make it more suitable for their learning. The "Ahh I get it!" moment is honestly one of the best perks of becoming a teacher!

I’ve taken this idea from my last prac and adapted it for my current class; it is a great reminder, and Ss love their personalised “super smiley evaluation cards” that they fill out with each piece of writing! #acuedu_p
Attended my first staff development day today which was centred around phonics! It was AMAZING!! It was so great to see all this theory being put into some practical and relevant examples! I'm very thankful that I got to experience such a useful workshop :) #acuedu_p
Today I got to experience what virtual learning looks like! It was great to see how changing the learning environment and context can influence the way students learn and remember information. Everyone was so engaged...even the teachers! #acuedu_p
“A fresh start gives us the chance to reflect on the past, weigh the things we’ve done, and apply what we’ve learned from those things to the future. If we don’t examine the past we don’t learn from it.” -R.J Palacio #acuedu_p
This week's staff meeting was all about formative assessment. It's refreshing to see the theory of this being reinforced and implemented in schools! Also got a few more helpful strategies that I can now try and use!

Observation day 2📚
Subject: English✏️
Students: “Miss I’m finished!
Me: “Have you proofread & edited your work?”
Most common answer: “No”
These different coloured pens are a great idea to help students work on their Punctuation, Vocabulary, Spelling & Grammar! #ACUedu_p
With links to practice 3, this video helps explain the importance of giving effective feedback to students in their development across an array of KLAs! #acuedu_p
