Does @realDonaldTrump realize that the reddest people of NY state live in towns around Ontario— with Ontario in the name of their streets, towns or county?
Do you have a passport?
Do you have $165 to get one?
Do you know where your birth or naturalization certificate is?
No? Good luck voting if the SAVE Trump Act passes.
Republicans aren't strengthening voter ID; they want to make it HARDER for you to vote them out of power.
The SAVE Act isn't about voter ID, it's about creating barriers to voting — rejecting military IDs, forcing seniors to find their birth certificate or buy a passport. They want to force millions of people to re-register to vote because they think that’s the only way they can win.
Read this slowly.
They slap the words “Save America” on it, then stack the fine print with barriers, culture war bait, and rules that make voting harder for regular folks.
Limiting mail ballots, adding document hurdles, and tossing in unrelated social issues is not election integrity. It is political stagecraft designed to shrink turnout and fire up the right.

Sen. Warnock on the SAVE Act: In the words of the administration itself, "we just want to make sure the right people are voting." That was the argument in the 1960s. I don't believe in the right people, I believe in we the people. Every American citizen must have access, it is a right.
🚨PATHETIC: After Republicans failed to muster enough votes for their voter suppression bill, they’ve added a provision to ban transgender athletes: Leavitt: "That's what the president is asking for. It's the SAVE America Act.”
They’re desperate and stupid.
#SaveActIsPayToVote
The SAVE America Act doesn’t “Save” America. And this isn’t about voter ID. This bill requires everyone to re-register to vote in person and your driver’s license, REAL ID, or military ID aren’t even good enough. Imagine all of our seniors who don’t have valid passports and haven’t seen their birth certificates in decades? What about them? How hard will it be for them to register? And how do they get a passport if they can’t find their birth certificates? And what about the cost? If this becomes law, it will disenfranchise many Americans.
Leavitt: "As far as married women who have changed their name, if they're already registered to vote, they're entirely unaffected by the SAVE Act. And for the small fraction of individuals who have changed their name or their address, they can still register to vote of course, they just have to go through their state processes to update that documentation."
Republicans are lying to the American people when they say the SAVE Act is a voter ID law—it’s a proof-of-citizenship requirement that would make voting harder, if not impossible, for a lot of people.
Passports are expensive, documents don’t always match, and the process can be a mess (been there). We should be making voting easier, not adding more hurdles.
Democrats can own this by proposing their own bill that accepts a range of IDs, and includes automatic voter registration and Election Day as a national holiday for starters.
