Watch an exclusive clip of ‘@paulineblackOBE Pauline Black: A 2-Tone Story’ ahead of it’s premiere this weekend at the @BFI London Film Festival 🎥
The new film from @janemingay documents Black’s significant influence in pushing 2-Tone to the forefront of British music culture with her work as the singer of @TheSelecter, ‘while supporting and campaigning for racial equality’.

I’m looking to interview comrades involved in organising ‘Stop the City’ demos in London and further afield in 1983-84 for an archive about the intersection between anarcho-punk and street politics to be housed at @maydayrooms. Please share with any potential interested parties!
Really sorry to hear of Nicky’s passing. Sounds silly but I didn’t think it was possible for this day to ever come, she never stopped! She was so passionate and hard working but still found time to check how you were.
So many memories. She will be greatly missed by so many.
Devastated to hear the news about my dear friend Nicky Gavron. Her service to our city was immeasurable, as a councillor, Deputy Mayor and Assembly Member.
To me, she was not just a kind and generous friend, but also a teacher and a mentor. Her commitment to tackling climate change inspired many, and she pioneered many of the policies that have led London to be the world leader it is today.
I have so many wonderful memories of Nicky over the years. She will be missed terribly, and my thoughts are with her daughters Sarah and Jessica, her wider family and loved ones.
Utterly astounded to have passed my viva with no corrections last week. My thanks to @andy_inch1 and Yasminah Beebeejaun for the examination, my superb supervisors John Flint @bernake @Tom_Moore85 and many many other brilliant folk at @USPSheffield for so much.
Overall - we approach the fifth anniversary of Grenfell unable to say that the tragedy could not happen again. And that is something no one would have accepted when they saw the images of flames ripping through the tower half a decade ago tomorrow.
Great RA job currently being advertised @USPSheffield on the fascinating @PeoplesPlans project with a fantastic bunch of colleagues (I should know, I'm currently doing it!): https://t.co/DYiGODlQHF
Join us this Friday 10am-1pm to discuss community gardens, voluntary work, Covid-19 and its impact, sustainable futures, and the new geographies of encounter in London. Sign up 👇
It’s been wonderful to assist students with great projects this term @UCLurbanlab but it’s something special to see them self organise a curatorial collective around the theme, despite its ongoing realities 🥰. Details for submissions here, d/l 31/5: https://t.co/TJY2DSOa1N
