If you read the Republican comments on this post, it becomes clear that they equate any counterculture (no matter how harmless) to a kind of civil disorder and thus want it eradicated.
back in 2015 I was sent to conversion therapy against my own will. I endured it for 6 months. I was a shell of a person after, and almost took my own life.
this is a very difficult topic for me to talk about it. but I feel compelled, to plea that we cannot accept this.
for anyone unaware of how torturous conversation therapy is basically they use classical conditioning to make you associate severe physical pain with any sort of gay attraction or queerness by showing you queer imagery and then literally physically torturing you
one thing i think about all the time is that Phantom of the Opera opened on Broadway on October 9, 1986 and ran until April 16, 2023 and many of the members of its orchestra stayed for the entire run, playing the same music 8 shows a week for 37 YEARS
Conversion therapy is torture. Literally torture. They physically abuse, electrocute and chemically poison gay kids to try and ‘fix’ them. And it doesn’t work. It’s pseudoscience. Those subjected to conversion therapy are 88% more likely to commit suicide and 0% more likely to become straight.
If you voted for this, just know you voted to torture innocent children and make them commit suicide. Let me repeat that: YOU VOTED FOR TORTURE AND SUICIDE. You are evil and psychotic if you support this.
Dick Van Dyke is turning 100 years old on December 13 and jokes: "It would be funny if I didn't make it."
"I brag sometimes about how I made it to a hundred and the truth is, if I had known I was going to live this long, I would’ve taken better care of myself. And it is frustrating because I don’t know what I did right. Other than her [wife Arlene], I didn’t do anything right."
