Switched internet providers from @optimum to a provider with equivalent (or better) service less $$. Took a 25 minute phone call yesterday to disconnect the service and turn down all of their counter offers. Today they have sent a text and called four times to get me back.
Updated Winter season snowfall rankings! Flagstaff and Grand Canyon N. Rim are currently in 5th place and Williams is in 2nd. It's been 43 winters since Flagstaff has seen this much snow. Many people living here today have not seen a winter like this 😮 #azwx
@Jessifer Had a student offer to send me a death certificate when his grandfather died. I told home that wasn’t necessary but all I could think about was that some professor must be requiring that. I was horrified!
@AshleighWrites @HesterBlum It's another in the long line of new things that are going to "ruin" education as we know it. People were freaking out about pencils when they were new too. As for me I trying to think about how I can help students use it as a tool in my class.
It’s a beautiful snowy (slightly delayed) first day of the semester @NAU@naucoe1 I’m so happy to be back with my future elementary teachers 😊 they’re the best!!
A gentle nudge to consider that no deadlines can be a form of a lack of #structure that can be troubling for some students. Fortunately, I’ve seen some nuance around this that acknowledges how we can walk the fine line of providing grace, autonomy AND structure.
Lovely October weekend in Flagstaff with a visit from my parents. Lots of first of the season - fire in the fireplace, chili in the slow cooker, and visit by my backyard Cooper’s Hawk.
