@Pelchatdl@jang_moragh @asforan Oh yes, I am sure you and that student eventually had a laugh about that eh. I did that once as well because it was a last minute trip. Mistakes when rushed eh.
@HartlinTommy @asforan Peak experience is a transformable experience where one's learning and outlook is altered.
How can you tell? Students tell you. Furthermore, past students come to your class and tell you.
@BryanMa96672759 @asforan When I propose an outdoor event, I know 3/4 of the class will buy-in. I try to quietly pull aside those that are typically reluctant to find out what they will need to participate. Sometimes best to ask as opposed to guess.
@EKeagan73234@BryanMa96672759 @asforan For me, it also seems to be a few 'traditional' parents that make these meaningful learning opportunities optional for their children. You are definitely onto something here!
@carroll_mme@CatherineB81977 @asforan I appreciate how you list experience before training. Training is important yes, but exposure to the problem solving each individual class' needs can only be learned by getting out there.
@missnconrad@JoelJGoswell @asforan Agreed. It is also worth noting how many barriers of inclusion that exist in the traditional school building that we would be appalled if we didn't provide assistance to overcome/include. Inclusion meets the students where they are at, not the venue.
@CrystalRoberts_@JoelJGoswell @asforan Differentiating between peak and outdoor experiences is an interesting inquiry in respect to inclusion. I see the more traditional use of peak experiences often creates bigger inclusionary gaps. Creating a class culture that redefines 'peak' experiences may be beneficial.
Question 4: Does standardized testing and pressure from academics play a role in the reduction of outdoor education from middle school through high school?

@GregoryRea29604@carroll_mme @asforan Assessment is important no doubt. I ask you what the role of assessment is in OL? Is it the same as a math test assessment?
