This is a serious takedown by Justice Madlanga. Advocate Andrea Johnson finally concedes that the decision to charge General Masemola and join him with Matlala and others was unlawful. It is worse than a Shakespearean tragedy. Andrea Johnson and Shamila Batohi—both part of the Thuma Mina Brigade brought in to "clean up"—now find themselves accused of contaminating the system even further. Something is rotten in this Thuma Mina administration.

President Cyril Ramaphosa is no innocent bystander in this debacle that gave us the seemingly rogue Andrea Johnson as the IDAC head. And he is certainly no knight in a shining armour who is about to save IDAC:

• Comrade Andrea’s statutory appointment was unilaterally made by the President alone in 2022— after consulting the equally rogue NPA under the woefully incompetent Shamila Batohi.
• There was no oversight role played by parliamentary whatsoever (unlike in some of the senior law enforcement officials’ recruitment & appointments).
• He made the final appointment alone & even publicly endorsed Comrade Andrea’s qualifications & suitability; & then entrusted her with leading high-profile corruption investigations. Unprovoked.

There has been a notable pattern of appointing either shady, unqualified, inexperienced, incompetent, discredited or known rogue officials by the President. The indictment is that he either has zero desire for institutional renewals, or he just has poor executive authority & judgment as one of his flawed traits. Or both.

I dare say unilateral presidential discretion over crucial appointments is part of our many problems as a country😠

At some point we need to really scrutinise our courts fully and the reasons behind some of the decisions they make, like how some Judges allow foreigners who are drug dealers to get bail… This decision is one that shocked me where a Judge FORCED the Home Affairs Department to give a Nigerian naturalisation in 15 days or take the Minister to Jail😳😳‼️ A clear over reach for the court and setting a bad precedence while taking away the powers of Home Affairs and giving it to foreigners to abuse our system @HomeAffairsSA The Judge who made that Judgement is herself a naturalised citizen in this country, a clear conflict of interest, so why was she the presiding judge in this case???🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ @GovernmentZA

Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma Hits Back at Fikile Mbalula

Following the successful anti-immigration priests across South Africa, March and March leader Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma has finally addressed African National Congress (ANC) Fikile Mbalula after he accused it of being funded by former President and Umkhonto WeSizwe Party (MKP) leaderJacob Zuma.

Mbalula made the accusations during his speech when he was giving the media an update after they held the ANC National Working Committee (NWC) meeting.

On Wednesday Ngobese-Zuma who has been avoiding to enter into a verbal boxing ring with Mbalula decided to address him after he accused her of meeting the MK Party leadership without Ngizwe Mchunu and Phakelumthakathi Ndabandaba.

"I told you guys that the issue here is not March and March but the fear of Jacob Zuma. Those who are close to Fikile Mbalula please can you tell him that we met with his leadership in Ethekwini when we had our first March and they refused to be part of the March, now when March and March has grown to be this big from nothing suddenly he pulls out a picture of us having met with the MK? Why not pull out a picture when we met with Action SA, IFP, DA, ,Afrika Mayibuye, ATM, Operation Dudula because we have met with ALOT of political parties and leaders, including ANC??

"So the issue is having met with MK? How many times have we sent our grievances to the ANC and they Ignore March and March and then decided who they want to meet because they don’t have the surname Zuma? The ANC issued a statement when I was fired and said they welcome me being fired? Now you want to make it seem like this is political?" she wrote angrily.

Ngobese-Zuma said the President of the country (Cyril Ramaphosa) is the President and they only wanted to meet him to address the immigration issue not because they wanted a photo op with him.

"So if he chooses to not see us that’s not a loss to us really! We organised those marches without the ANC. When we started March and March it was a joke to many of you! You Fikile even went on TV and asked who I am? Now after we organised a nation wide protest you are trying to make it seem as though we were doing things in silence or behind the peoples back to meet certain people?

"Everyone knows we have met several political parties and we have explained why. You failed with labelling us vigilantes, you failed with the tribalism, now you want to keep aligning us with MK so you can prove a point that this is not a genuine organisation? Goodluck with what you are trying to do Bhuti but please be honest when you are addressing issues," she said.

Earlier on the day Mbalula went on X and posted a picture of Ngobese-Zuma and her husband and questioned why everybody did not make a noise when they met Nathi Nhleko without Ngizwe and Phakelumthakathi.
