Athletes… there’s more opportunities than just D1 softball to be competitive and play for National Titles. There’s some great coaches doing amazing things at other levels.
@kylee_smith3@NCAASoftball@NCAADII@NCAA Not to mention D2 baseball is capped at 50 games in a regular season while D2 softball is capped at 56. We already play more games than they do yet they still get 8 days because they supposedly need more recovery time. We should at least get 8 if not 9 days like D1 softball.
Is this a joke?? As a former D2 athlete that has competed in two softball Championships (not World Series because that’s reserved for only D1) within a 4 day timespan rest and recovery is crucial and you still won’t even give us that even though D1 softball has 9 days(a thread)..
This is a bandaid fix. Division 2 women’s softball deserves just as much as the D1 softball. They receive an expansion, and we are just now “maybe” getting 6 days. Plus we can’t even call it a World Series, that’s only for D1 athletes. @NCAA do better for the athletes.
All we ask for is EQUALITY. D1, D2, D3 shouldn’t matter! Women’s College World Series has now been approved for a 9 day event. While last year D2 softball national championship was played in 4. RIDICULOUS!! #NCAASoftball@NCAASoftball@NCAADII
We put in the same time and effort, if not more, as any D1 athlete. We want the same treatment and recognition we deserve. Do better @NCAA@NCAASoftball
to going to the world series and playing 4 games a day. Our bodies are the same as D1 players. That is a FACT. Before even going to college we played with the same D1 players. We should have the same treatment. Period. Do better @NCAADII@NCAASoftball
NO HITTER!
.@UMSLSoftball takes game two of the doubleheader against the Bearcats behind Scaramuzzi's no hitter, the program's first no hitter since May 10, 2018.
