Estonian on-demand #metal fabrication platform @Fractory_Int raised €4.8M from lead investor #Finnish VC Kvanted, and existing company’s backers, such as Estonian @trindvc and Specialist VC (former United Angels VC), Estonian accelerator @StartupWiseGuys, Finnish @superherovc, #Amsterdam-based @otb_ventures, and #Swiss #investment firm @VerveVentures.
Founded in 2017 by @MartinVares1, @jmerelaht, and Rein Torm, Fractory is a platform where it is possible to order metal fabrication online. First, the customer uploads #CAD files with drawings of the metal models, chooses the desired material type, thickness, and quantity that suits him, and selects the delivery address. The price quote includes laser cutting, bending, threading/countersinking, and powder coating. In addition, the startup provides CNC machining services - manufacturing technology to produce custom metal and plastic parts.
If the client agrees with the price, Fractory sends his order to production and delivers within nine days. The startup partners with manufacturers from the #unitedkingdom. Mainly, the company operates in Scandinavia and the UK, but it has already delivered parts to the #UnitedStates, the Baltics, and other countries. Fractory employs 64 people.
In the first quarter of 2023, Fractory was one of the biggest payers of labor taxes in Estonian county Tartu - €300K. https://t.co/rkS3xN4saD
And in 2022, the company’s turnover was nearly €15M.
Fractory will use the investment to expand in existing markets, such as the United Kingdom and #Scandinavia. It will focus on offering the clients an increase in production capacity and volume.

🚀 Exciting news from Paul-Tech! 🌱 They secured a game-changing investment round to supercharge the development of next-gen smart farming solution. 🌾 @EstBAN_org angels are on board, and I'm thrilled to be the co-lead with @maitsooaru.
Estonian #agritech Paul-Tech raised €1,4M from lead investor Estonian VC @superangel10x, Estonian venture capital firms SmartCap, @badger_capital, @EstBAN_org, Estonian company engaged in the sale and maintenance of agricultural machinery Tatoli, Latvian investment firm @overkillvc, and some #Swedish angel investors.
Founded in 2019 by Mikk Plakk, Tiit Plakk, Eve Plakk, and Anu Einberg, Paul-Tech develops a #soil station that lets farmers and land managers monitor plant growth conditions and in-soil processes in real-time.
The station describes data about air and soil conditions 24/7 on different fields, and the samples are taken every two hours. Based on this data, the software creates a timeline, which helps describe soil processes in a trend-based manner. As a result, the farmer can see whether these processes limit plant growth, where they come from, and which direction they are moving.
The station also measures soil moisture and nutrient levels. All this information allows farmers to define when is the best time to start sowing the fields or when it is better to do only essential tasks to plants, without causing extra stress for them. In addition, farmers can implement practices, gentler to the soil and the environment, for instance, avoiding the overuse of fertilizers, and preventing nutrient-starved land.
The startup will use the investment to expand into the UK market and advance its product line. To date, Paul-tech has over 100 customers from Estonia, #Finland, Sweden, and the UK.
Founded in 2018 in #Tallinn by @veljo and @rainrannu, Superangel focuses on pre-seed and seed investment in the Baltics and Nordics. The General Partners are @oolomarko and @msilventola. The fund invests in deep tech and AI, mobility and logistics, fintech, and SaaS. A typical ticket size is between €300K and €800K. Superangel backed Bolt, Veriff, Pipedrive, Starship Technologies and Nordigen. This year, Superangel invested in two Nordic technology companies: Danish autonomous mobile robots for the retail industry Coalescent Mobile Robotics, and Finnish AR startup Doublepoint, Estonian insurtech https://t.co/v6tQCUZLK3.

Estonian venture capital firm @TeraVentures invested in the construction progress tracking platform AI Clearing. The startup raised $14M. The lead investor was #NewYork-based VC Prudence. US VC @FjLabs, and #Polish venture capital firms Inovo and @innovationnest also participated in the deal.
Founded in #Austin (US) in 2020 by Adam Wiśniewski and Michael Mazur, AI Clearing helps companies track the work progress on big construction sites like highways, solar farms, #airports, #railway tracks, gas pipelines, etc. It is a SaaS platform that analyzes #data, gathered with the help of #drones, as well as construction project schedules and design blueprints, provided by the customers. The client either gives its drone-based data or AI Clearing helps him set it up. The startup's platform can integrate easily with the customer's existing systems for data sharing. As a result, the company solution generates 3D construction updates in the form of an interactive dashboard and also provides reports in the form of PDFs. The client can receive the data about how much concrete was poured on a construction site during one day, and how that aligns with the timeline.
According to the startup, its AI-powered solution will take 12 hours to analyze the work progress on the 10km highway site, which is more than two times faster than if this work was done only by people.
Among AI Clearing clients are construction companies, owners of utilities, road or railways operators, and financial investors, such as #French construction company VINCI, PCL Construction, and oil and gas company Galp. The startup has signed a contract with the #Saudi Arabian construction site #NEOM, which involves more than 200 projects to be built in the nearest time.
AI Clearing’s R&D hub is located in Warsaw. The company employs more than 60 people globally. AI Clearing will use the investment to boost its sales, marketing, and customer success teams in the US, #Europe, and the #MiddleEast.
