German Olympic biathlon champion Laura Dahlmeier has tragically passed away in a climbing accident in Pakistan's Karakoram Mountains, her management team told the German Press Agency (dpa).

The 31-year-old was struck by falling rocks on Monday at Laila Peak, at an altitude of around 5,700 meters.
