Great to see the survival rate from out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in Ireland has increased. A big thank you to all the volunteers and CFR group members around the country who helped make it happen. See the full 2022 OHCAR annual report here: https://t.co/SgzCkm6SnG

The report demonstrates the importance of recognising a cardiac arrest, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation and using an AED - it save lives every day in Ireland.
OHCAR has provided over a decade of data on regional cardiac arrest incidence and outcomes. Perhaps the most impressive achievement of @PHECC @cathal1972@CFRIreland &@NAS is the 84% rate of bystander CPR being achieved in out of hospital cardiac arrests in Ireland. Phenomenal!
The Irish national 'Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest Register’ (OHCAR) was established in late 2007. The resultant focus on the improvement of measurable variables has yielded one of the greatest modern examples of effective QI in Irish Healthcare. @PHECC

Thanks Bridget - these stats are only possible to report on due to the excellent work and effort undertaken by our colleagues in the EMS and the dedication by the volunteers that assist. Well done all!
