So JD Vance thinks if you point out that Charlie Kirk was a racist, sexist bigot you should be fired from your job but if you’re a 25 to 30-something Young Republican who praises Hitler and rape and uses the n word repeatedly you’re “just a kid” and should be forgiven. Got it
It’s hard to overstate what a disaster Boris Johnson turned out to be. It’s likely none of the present tensions would be happening in the UK if he hadn’t done this. The worst thing is, I couldn’t tell you if he did it on purpose or by accident. Either is quite possible.
Watched it last night. Everyone should. @GaryLineker is right that it is a mark of shame on the BBC that they refused to show it. It doesn’t just expose the attacks on the Gaza healthcare system. It reveals the era of impunity in which “strongmen” leaders believe they can operate. The BBC is one of this country’s greatest cultural assets but has truly lost its way if its leaders cannot see that this was real journalism, not propaganda, and that speaking truth to power rather than cowering in front of it is what their journalism should be about. They have some terrific reporters doing their best but sometimes it takes a film made over time to tell the whole story and it beggars belief that they have up the chance to broadcast it. Out of fear of what?
Today was #Brexit Referendum Day in 2016.
A Check List so far ... 9 years on.
The Gullible were Conned By Lies. It's okay to admit you were wrong, now.
At a time when the criminal justice system is closer than ever to complete collapse, those electronic books people have made the Sunday Times No.1 bestseller #StoriesOfTheLawAndHowItsBroken a Kindle Monthly Deal - an absurd 99p.
Read. Learn. Get furious.

Nigel Farage has told ITV News the first thing he would do as prime minister if he won a general election would be to remove the UK from the European Convention on Human Rights
That alone is good reason never to vote for Reform UK.
THIS IS WHY👇
English is full of “lexical gaps,” words that are implied to exist but don’t, because we borrowed a bunch of words from Latin but not other, related words. Somebody made a chart to show it↓
Best April Fool I've played in many a year:
My barber, when he trims the hair above my ear, holds the flap of my ear against the side of my head. Yesterday I prepared the skin with rubber cement, so when he let go, it stayed there...

A reminder that Sadiq Khan won three elections in a row by large majorities against Conservative opponents, one of whom, Shaun Bailey, was then given a seat in the House of Lords for life.
Funnily enough I don't remember the Daily Mail describing that as a "reward for failure"
@itvanglia@Rosiedowsing Not the first time this has been done! I (illegally) arranged this in about 1976, when the Great Court Run was attempted at midnight, not noon. A friend and I accessed the clock chamber, and kept the bell chiming until everyone had completed the Run.
