@WorldBollard Here's something beautifying (or maybe just disguising) some faithful bollards in Hertford for the school holidays. Seriously good sea themed crocheted wool bombing.
@like2bike_uk@bricycle Hertfordshire has mapped on GIS every road in the county according to one of 5 Place & Movement categories, and the design guide that aligns with those is out for consultation now. Comments welcome here https://t.co/9x8ubVMqEK
@BikeIsBestHQ Exactly what we're building into designs: LTN 1/20 compliant, manoeuvring space for the Cycle Design Vehicle, modest crossfalls, Inclusive of non standard & young alike.
Hidden Disabled Cyclists https://t.co/xOZRMDO4fK excellent @Wheels4Well article on designing & allowing for people with hidden disabilities to use their cycles/bikes so ordinary daily life is possible. I thought I was designing & advocating right but I just learned so much more!
@WalkRideHeatons Some highway authorities choose to use blacktop everywhere to minimise construction and maintenance costs and to have a better likelihood of utilities contractors restoring their trenches to something like the original surfacing.
@mzdt @teragramytrehod @adamtranter Particularly in rural areas, we need to strike a balance between the 'perfect' of full segregation of cycles from pedestrians and the extra countryside we'd lose to provide it. How much green should we sacrifice for the inconvenience of slowing occasionally for people walking?
@adamtranter@notjustbikes Great film @adamtranter - thank you! I'm looking forward to watching the sequel showing what the finished cycle track looks like, what the issues were in getting it built and the differences it makes to people's lives - like you say, not just to cycling.
