May return as of Monday; health issues have prevented me from having the muse to write.
Be good to yourselves. Don't take a moment for granted.
- "What happened to me drove him mad. We both know that he left you no choice," she continued, reaching out to encapsulate his face with her petite hand, "I'm so proud of you."
His hands - larger, as they were - were scooped up by his mother . . . in a gesture that was intended to be simultaneously soothing and to command his focus.
She wanted - needed - him to hear what she said next.
"Never again," she replied, her conviction evident in the -
- scintillation of her gaze, "I swear it . . ."
Lisa paused and pressed her lips together. Although she was grateful for her second chance, it did not make her death any less hellish to consider, even in hindsight. -
Mask or no mask, he was going to be overwhelmed by kisses! When she was through, she relaxed and tucked her face against him as best as she could, her arms holding him tightly and comfortingly.
"I love you," she expressed with a gentle squeeze.
She has, quite essentially, become a human shield ; her body allowing him additional shade . . . although, feeling playful, she did trail kisses along his face.
She would climb atop him and shelter him as best as she could with her body. Crystalline eyes moved toward the castle's doors, and she wondered if they should simply return indoors, for his sake.
He felt close to her while placing the mask and hooded cloak on his body. Mathias remained close to her, even sitting down in the shade to recover from the pain.
- She drew in a deep breath as the breeze pushed her hair from her face, and then locked eyes with her son.
" . . . Your father returned to this world with me," she told him, opting to break the news gently but forwardly, "he lives, Adrian."
"Sit," she instructed, resting in the grass and imploring him to join her.
It was only fair, given what she was about to reveal.
His hand rested in her own, cradled by both. She admired it for a moment ; how big they were, and how paradoxically violent and gentle. -
Slowly, she took his larger hands into her own and guided him toward the shade. Her expression was one of concern as she observed him.
Did he need to sit down for a bit? She didn't mind . . . the sound of the stream was quite comforting.
Would he rather be recognized by anyone who saw him just from his pale face alone? He does come closer, showing her that the sun did beat down on him, but he wasn't burning or turning to flames. He felt exhaustion taking over his body.
