The “Vibe Coding” honeymoon is officially OVER.
For a while, it felt magical. Prompt in, product out. No deep context, no architecture, no trade-offs. Just vibes.
But reality is catching up:
• Systems still need to scale • Edge cases still exist • Debugging still hurts • And someone still has to own the code
AI didn’t replace engineering, it amplified the gap between people who understand systems and people who don’t.
“Vibe coding” is great for getting started. But shipping real, reliable software? That still requires thinking.
The engineers who win won’t be the ones who vibe the fastest - they’ll be the ones who understand what the vibe produced.
@AigbedionJoseph @markessien You're right on the textbook math. But with modern appliances eg.. inverter ACs, the compressor dials way back once the room is cool. I actually run my 1.5hp at 30% capacity, and it sits perfectly around 380W to start and eventually just maintain the chill.
@markessien Haha.. I think 700k might be a bit too optimistic right now. ~1.5kw - 2kw of panels could be around 250k - 300k at the moment. even if we assume you are powering a highly efficient 1.0 HP inverter AC, ₦700k does not seem feasible.
@Beyondthematchh Very dependent on the appliances/devices (load) you currently use and knowledge...but it's super feasible to go off-grid with ~5m for the average household
Despite the doom and gloom you hear on X the developer job market is fine. In fact dev jobs grew 10% over the last year while the overall market declined.
Here's what I'm seeing on the ground as someone who recently went through interview loops with several companies:
- There are a ton of early to medium stage startups hiring very aggressively.
- AI-native people are in very high demand
- If you're interviewing, just aim for earlier stage companies
- If you're in SF or NYC you're probably going to have a much easier time
- Larger / legacy companies are the only ones doing layoffs, and it's only a few of them.
My advice: stay ahead of the curve on AI tooling and be able to demonstrate what you know pointedly.
@FiverrSupport@FiverrSupport Turns out my emails to [email protected] were initially getting bounced back because I sent it from a yahoo account.
I've now used a business email and received a ticket number - #14141395
Appreciate your acknowledgement and assistance here.

If any of these sound like you, I want to see your application (link below):
• 3–5 years of experience as a Backend Engineer
