We request that we all please keep forwarding this post until it gets to the attention of our esteemed Lagos State Government. Particularly the Ministry of Health.
Some "EVIL SERVICE" development is brewing at the Lagos State College of NURSING Igando.

This College was designed to feed the Lagos State Health Service Commission with Qualified NURSES every new year to meet the ever growing needs of our "City of Excellence".

The Substantive Provost of the college retired in December last year. We understand that on the instruction of our GOVERNOR SANWOOLU the list of all graduating students of LASCON is sent to the LASG Health Service Commission for employment. This practice has worked for the student set of 2019 and 2020 who graduated in 2022 and 2023. The fate of the student set of 2021 who wrote their NURSING COUNCIL EXAMS in November 2024 are now in the hands of an ACTING PROVOST who is playing some "EVIL SERVICE "gimmicks refusing to send the list of graduating students to the LASG Health Service Commission for employment opportunities.

It is SAD enough that only 25% of the 83 graduands are indigenes of LAGOS STATE. And we uñderstand that the HSC may close their employment Portal on Friday 17th January 2025. (Today is 15th).
The LASG HSC is then free to fill their employment Quota with Qualified NURSES from all other Competing Nursing Schools in Nigeria. What happens to the few Indigenes from the LASCON ( Lagos State College of Nursing). Can someone please call the acting provost to order so that our children can be SAVED from the " JAPA SYNDROME " of Nurses. May we recall that our LASG has spent huge sums of resources to TRAIN 83 children for our Lagos Health Service Schemes.

There are shortage of NURSES all over the world. Should we be spending our scarce resources to train NURSES for the rest of the world while our own services are suffering. From the table of concerned INDIGENES OF LAGOS STATE.
