@_Ayiisha “No child of yours will hit you like that”good, I like that. That also means you won’t allow it get to that point in the first place.
From when the pikin small, you go don set boundaries and teach am right from wrong.
@Molayoo_ Not defending the boy’s behavior, but context matters. A 9–10 year old waking up around 11am already raises questions, like what time did he sleep? Kids without proper sleep routines can be extremely irritable. Discipline is important, but so is structure.
We don’t talk enough about the space between finishing your LL.B and getting into Law School.
You are done… but not started. Waiting… but unsure what to do with the waiting.
Law school students and lawyers in the house, how did you navigate this stage? I’d really like to know
@Mitch_mezie@auradivinum@instablog9ja The issue here is that a child is still a child, and involvement should be limited to age-appropriate assistance under proper supervision
@Mitch_mezie@auradivinum@instablog9ja I agree that teaching children responsibility and basic caregiving skills is important, and I fully support raising boys to be capable and involved in domestic tasks. However, that is a separate conversation from this situation.
@Mitch_mezie@auradivinum@instablog9ja From the video, it is clear that this isn’t just a one time act, the ease and confidence with which the child is handling the baby. That level of coordination and familiarity suggests this is not an occasional activity, but something he may have been consistently involved in.
@GinaDen22001514@instablog9ja Exactly, my point. The responsibility should remain with the parents, not the child. The boy can just simply observe and help in little tasks
@Michael63805317@instablog9ja And I understand that some older kids genuinely enjoy caring for their younger siblings, and that’s fine, even cute. But that interest should be guided in safe, age appropriate way.
@Michael63805317@instablog9ja Even if the mother is nearby, there’s a clear difference between a child helping and a child being the one actually handling such a delicate task. An infant isn’t something you “practice” with. this is something that requires full adult responsibility.
@Terry1633925@instablog9ja This has nothing to do with men vs women. If it were a young girl in the same situation, I would say the exact same thing. My concern is about a child being given adult responsibility, not about gender.
