For anyone who isn’t aware yet: Yixing was urgently called back to Beijing by the National Theatre of China for an important official event (the specific details have not been disclosed), which required him to return immediately.

Yixing has been a member of the National Theatre of China since 2024 and previously held a lead role in the musical “The Summoning of Dunhuang”, which toured last year and earlier this year. This is a state-level institution, meaning he is a state-level artist and is required to comply with official calls and duties. In some cases, these assignments are not announced in advance and can come at very short notice, making situations like this impossible to predict.

From his actions and efforts, it is clear how much he was looking forward to reuniting with EXO. He had to turned down some work in China (he is always booked in advance) to remain in Korea for nearly half a month before the fanmeeting, not to mention the repeated travel back and forth and the time spent in transit.

When this happened, he chose to shoulder the responsibility and apologise publicly to his members, his team, and everyone who came to see him, even though this was not truly his fault. I feel deeply for him, but I also know that he has always been someone who gives his all. I never want his efforts to be overlooked, yet I understand that in this situation, there was very little he could do.

Q. which group would you say is stand out to you the most this year esp with the refreshing concept?

A : ...close your eyes is a really special group too, just for the really great music they're bringing. i feel like they subverted a lot of different expectations of what maybe a kpop rookie should sound like but they have this mature, thoughtful music, but have a very youthful look at the same time
