Mary Pickford

You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call 'failure' is not the falling down, but the staying down.

@Alice_Paul1885 I just passed too! Heaven's pretty ducky!

I love you all, forever, but we can only live for so long. Goodbye lovelies. Always remember, life is beautiful. We're all so lucky.

1976
I received the Lifetime Honorary Award. So thankful for this life, and especially @acs_LillianGish for always being such a sweetheart.

WWI
Whoopee! I was christened the U.S. Navy's official "Little Sister"; the Army named two cannons after me and made me an honorary colonel.

[Mary Pickford @marypickfordd]

World War I
Today I spoke to 50,000 people, promoting liberty bonds on Wall Street. Thanks to those who came :) It was swell!

I have retired from acting, but will definitely continue to produce for others. I encourage you to follow your dreams, they're worth it

[Mary Pickford @marypickfordd]

@clara_bow_ Anytime dear. Keep your head high and never give up!

[Mary Pickford @marypickfordd]

@nicksha03578349 good.

My love for silent movies will never die. Talkies are, indeed, like smearing lipstick on the Venus de Milo. People are such Dumb Doras!

[Mary Pickford @marypickfordd]

@clara_bow_ You do that! Follow your swanky dreams!

[Mary Pickford @marypickfordd]

@clara_bow_ Sounds swell to me! But it's your life dear, do whatever makes you happy. You'd be ducky in anything love!

[Mary Pickford @marypickfordd]

@clara_bow_ Aw thank you!

[Mary Pickford @marypickfordd]

@marion_davies1 Thanks <3

[Mary Pickford @marypickfordd]

Throwback to 1928
The first time I cut my hair was in wake of my mother's death; in 1928. It didn't get nearly as much attention as now!

[Mary Pickford @marypickfordd]

1929
My fans are going screwy about my new hair! It even made the front page of the NY times! This is how it looks.

[Mary Pickford @marypickfordd]

1929
I have just played a reckless socialite in Coquette, a role for which my famous golden ringlets have been cut into a 1920s bob!

"Adding sound to movies would be like putting lipstick on the Venus de Milo."
Where have people's common sense gone?!
