The facts don't lie. The 2021 letter you signed was obviously drafted by railroad industry lobbyists.
It supports waivers that would reduce visual track inspections.
Now: will you vote to help us toughen rail safety accountability and fines, or not?
Everyone says "Talk to someone." Who do you talk to? I know and understand that I was raised in a time where "Men don't talk about their emotions." And while I've made sure that my boys have never had to feel it, it's embedded in myself.
I have some of the best friends in the world, but I can not talk to them. I can't get one of them on the line and just scream until there is no sound. I can't break down in front of them until the tears no longer flow and the shaking stops.
I can't even do that with people who have been through the same or similar, because I was raised to be the rock. The person everybody can come to. The crying shoulder. The immovable object. But I'm tired. I hurt so fucking bad. All of this grief feels like an elephant sitting on
my chest and no matter how much I push back, it's rested there with no intent on moving. How do I open up to a therapist? As I said, I can't open up to those closest to me, so how am I supposed to with a complete stranger. I know I need it. I know I research almost my every
waking moment, but to what avail? So I fight. I focus all of my energy, all the pain and anger, self loathing, towards making sure nobody else feels this way. Unfortunately, I know that there will always be new members in this club, but if I can save just one person the agony
its all worth it, right? That will alleviate the pain, right? I apologize for this rant, but writing is one of the only ways I can actively express how I feel and get even a minute amount of pain to subside. I just want my boy back. My life back. Everything back to how it was.
I'm not a "why me" person. I've accepted the fact that I was dealt a shit hand from birth and have always tried my best to make my situations and surroundings better. But seriously, why me? Why Uzi? Why us?
because it wasn't them that lost a child. I scream and bawl when noone is around, hitting every single "what if" or "I should have". Why couldn't I have gotten there earlier, why did we send him to school that day. Why did we not take him out after the awards ceremony.
I'm so enraged at the shooter, the LEO, our state and federal lawmakers, our community who have turned their backs on us hoping we would just sweep it under the rug, yet, how can this many people not care. My life is shattered, and everyone wants to sweep it under the rug, simply
this is a dream. That it's May 23rd and I'm just going off to work like every other day and when I get home all of my children will be there. I accept that that is not the case. That my life is forever going to have a void that I can not fill. I'm depressed and angry concurrently
I'm about to be as open, raw, and real as I can be. Since losing Uzi on May 24th, I am not the same person. I daily fight all 5 stages of grief simultaneously. Unless you've lived it, you'll never expect that denial and acceptance can coexist. I wake up every morning hoping
Rep Pete Aguilar (D-CA) about release of Jan 6 video to FOX News
"It’s not at all surprising that Kevin McCarthy would jeopardize the security of the Capitol & the people that work there to further a political agenda. This is another payoff in the many backroom deals he cut..."
Rep Jeffries says Jan 6 Cmte took precautions with videos to prevent risking safety...
"There is no indication that these same precautionary measures have been taken in connection with the transmission of the video footage at issue" to FOX
House Dem Leader Hakeem Jeffries on release of Jan 6 police video to FOX News
"Apparent transfer of video footage represents an egregious security breach that endangers the hardworking women and men of the.. Capitol Police, who valiantly defended our democracy with their lives"
@myronjclifton Staying true their historical response to black spaces, especially those that prosper. See Tulsa, Colfax, Elaine and Rosewood. Technology just allows them to keep their hands “clean” now. They cannot stand to see Black excellence thriving.
The “Put you back in your place” reflex hurled at Black folk when we accomplish anything is one of the nuts & bolts of white supremacy. Sorry, but we’re never returning to the back of your bus
@jazlikescheese@ShimonPro I remember seeing this post as I have family involved — I remained calm. Then I realized it was automated. Family informed me otherwise. I was devastated. My family hasn’t been the same since.
The Ohio railroad disaster is a discouraging peek behind the curtain. The evidence is mounting for how expendable we are to the people pulling the strings.1/2
