My great-grandparents came to America from Lebanon and Syria. They came with hope, built a life, raised a family, and were proud Americans. I’m proud too.
But my roots didn’t disappear the day they arrived. The villages, the people, the history of my ancestral homeland still matter to me.
I can no longer stay silent watching those lands suffer and be destroyed, especially at the hands of nations that call themselves America’s friends and allies.
Loving America doesn’t mean I stop loving where my family began. Both truths live in the same heart. Both deserve to be defended
