We're proud of the impact the Warm Welcome Campaign has had, and so thankful to all the volunteers who make it possible. John is one of our volunteers. This is his story.

Thanks @nearneighbours for helping us build the foundations of the leadership journeys for the women at CG. Now we have our team of Stronger Together Leaders who with dedication and determination are creating real change for our communities.
@rsgexp Thank you for everything @rsgexp I'm one of thousands of very lucky organisers to have been trained and inspired by you. You are a star 🌟 and will always shine for us. Thank you with all my love.
The Home Affairs Select Committee met this week for a one-off session on asylum seekers and conversion to Christianity. There were two important things that came out of it that the press has largely ignored. Here's what they were: (short🧵) 1/
Another death or possible murder in Russia. He was a famous photographer arrested several times at protest rallies and took a photo that became famous and a symbol at Navalny protests. Dmitry Markov died today in Pskov at the age of 42 https://t.co/wWHZC9EOxZ
Happening now: so frightening for families.
Many children in school, community connections, studying/volunteering locally.
We'll welcome families to Newham but it won't mend trauma of being shunted from home with no notice.
No human should have to face this.
ONE THOUSAND AND THREE HUNDRED vulnerable children without their parents, in the UK alone after taking a horrifying journey, and we utterly, utterly failed them.
The way we do not see brown kids as kids.
We barely see them as human. It is so fucking shameful.
Well done to the Warm Welcome team and Warm Space Leaders for supporting the 400 asylum seekers due to be moved with a week's notice - as a result some people's moves are being postponed.

Proud of the Warm Spaces taking a stand with their neighbours today against the eviction of 400 asylum seekers with less than a week’s notice (and still no news on where they are being moved to!) - https://t.co/9B7CalBmhV
Clearsprings Ready Homes continuing their appalling track record of profiteering off making vulnerable peoples' lives miserable.
With no notice, more hotels being cleared out.
Waltham Forest community are organising lots of support! @RefugeeAction@migrantsorg@telcocitizens
A very special day with #faith and #community in #walthamforest standing I'm solidarity with 400 asylum seekers who are to be evicet3d with a week's notice. A very powerful action run by @CitizensUK thank you @WarmWelcome_UK for your support.
Shafraz shares a powerful story of the support he received from @wfcouncil and a community hub at Stanford Hall, St Barnaba's Church which is part of @warmwelcome_uk. Wonderful support, hospitality and #socialaction. @DTBarclay
When St Barnabas’, Walthamstow, e London, saw isolation was a problem locally, it reached out with ‘Hot Chocolate and Chat’ sessions, with NearNeighbours £. Churchwarden Averil says 50-70 people come, “of different faith and backgrounds”. #InterFaithWeek

When I was targeted by a group of far-right thugs in my constituency I was contacted by the then Prime Minister, Theresa May and had a meeting with the then Home Secretary, Sajid Javid - both within a couple of days. I’m just an opposition MP from the third party in parliament. How on earth the PM and Foreign Secretary haven’t thought to speak with the First Minister - who is going through something far worse than I did - is beyond me.
