Some important things being missed in the discourse surrounding the recent not just extreme but openly genocidal comments of the Chief Rabbi of Israel.

1. Israel is a Jewish state - it literally defines itself by the religion of Judaism
2. There is NO separation of religion and state in Israel - so these views are shared by synagogue and state.
3. The chief Rabbi is the highest moral authority of the nation - this man is the moral guide for all Israelis.
4. For Zionists in the west Israel is their Northstar.
