April 28 marks a special milestone for us.
In 2024, we launched our first Masaf Space in Jigjiga with a simple belief young people can support each other to overcome real challenges.
Grateful. Growing. Just the beginning.

As our week-long stay in Rwanda for experience-sharing trip comes to an end, I wish to take this opportunity to heartily thank, on behalf of our delegate, the @Cooperation_RW for generously hosting us with an African spirit and facilitating us to meet and engage with various institutions and government agencies. We also thank officials of these various institutions for their warm reception and devoting their time to provide us with invaluable insights on their work and the innovative approaches they employed that contributed to their success.
The level of commitment, professionalism and openness they have demonstrated is indeed, without fear of exaggeration, unparalleled to anywhere else I have visited.
But most importantly, it is the people of Rwanda that left me and my team with un-erasable mark in our hearts. Here we found a phoenix nation that miraculously standing on its ashes, collectively working for a shared future, jealously guarding their unity, unabated by the weight of painful history, limitations on geographical size and location. We found an orderly town where people treat you friendly irrespectively. These must be among what sets Rwanda apart !
Of course, we also shared our story and contemporary strive to make better Ethiopia. We affirmed that Rwanda, as always, can count on Ethiopia as its steadfast ally - a nation whose pan-African spirit transcends time, and now led by an equally visionary leader with mind-boggling initiatives, Dr @AbiyAhmedAli
We go back home equipped with a better mindset and valuable experiences that we intend to adapt within the context of Somali regional state.
Our Executive Director, @AxmednuurTamaan, represented MasafSpaces at the #WorldFoodForum in Rome — engaging in global dialogues on youth empowerment, innovation, and agrifood systems transformation.
To commemorate the International Day of Peace, GNRC Somalia convened youth leaders, civil society, and peace advocates in Mogadishu under the theme “Stand for Children in War Campaign, Building Peace for Somalia’s Future.”
With over 4.5 million #Somali children in need of aid and nearly 2,000 grave violations against children recorded in 2024, this timely dialogue focused on protecting children from conflict and advancing peace.
We thank GNRC Somalia, @SomaliNYP, @Sipinstitute, @YeepSomalia, the Somali Youth Parliament Council, @MasafSpaces, and Seacore for joining us in standing for children and shaping a safe, secure, and sustainable world for them.
