🏳️🌈 CONTROVERSIAL OPINION BUT…
BEING GAY IS ONLY FUN IF UR ATTRACTIVE OR HAVE A GOOD BODY 😭
OTHERWISE, IT’S ACTUALLY INCREDIBLY LONELY. 💀🥲
I’m making this post because I’ve recently noticed something I wanted to talk about.
I’ve been exploring my sexuality as a gay man for about 2 years. At the beginning of my journey, I was slightly on the heavier side, and I could barely get any DMs even when I was the one initiating conversations.
Over the summer, I decided to take my weight loss seriously. I changed my diet and started working out regularly.
About two months into changing my lifestyle, I started getting compliments about my body and around 10–20 DMs a day. That might not sound like a crazy amount, but compared with the 1–2 messages a week I used to get, it was a huge difference.
I’ve also talked to more guys this past month than I did during my previous 7–8 months. A lot of them even asked why I didn’t have a boyfriend or whether I’d be interested in going on a date with them.
Don’t get me wrong—I love the attention, and it feels good knowing that guys would actually consider dating me. ❤️
But part of me has started feeling like my body is the only thing that matters.
It has affected the way I see myself because now I worry that if I gain the weight back, I’ll lose all this attention.
So I guess my point is that sometimes it feels like, without a nice face or a good body, you won’t find love in the gay community.
And personally, I sometimes feel like being a good person just isn’t enough. 🥲🏳️🌈
